I come into this little diner during my lunch break and I find it to be the best breakfast food I've had in Colorado. I'm from Boulder and places in Boulder try and make things too fancy by adding exotic ingredients and for me this isn't what I'm looking for in a good breakfast. Pete's has really good biscuits and gravy, way better than anything in Boulder. The gravy I think is cooked in with the sausage and creates a really good flavor. The ham and cheese omelette has big chunks of ham that are cooked on the flat grill before being added to the omelette. And the potatoes are consistently cooked perfectly and are delicious. All that and it's incredibly cheap...Just had a huge breakfast and my bill was $8.67 for an omelette, potatoes, and biscuits and gravy. My favorite breakfast spot by far
I have been going to Pete's Cafe for close to two years now. I would consider myself a regular. Maybe not as regular as once a month, but at least once every other month. There food has always been very good. I also appreciate the fact that Pete often comes over and gets to know his customers. Today was the exception. I took my friend to eat here for the first time ever. I was excited to show her a local place that my husband and I enjoy on a regular basis. Unfortunately when we got there I realized that I had forgotten my purse. I didn't want my friend to wait for me in the parking lot so I asked her to ride back with me quickly. I literally live no more than 8 minutes away from the restaurant by car. She agreed and we went and grabbed my purse. When we got back we went in and ate. The food was good like always. My friend liked it very much and even talked about going back with her family. When she got home she called me when she realized there was a note taped to her door. The note told her how dare she park there and then go somewhere else, it went on to say she was lucky that she hadn't been towed. This was not a busy hour at the restaurant and she was not parked right in front of the establishment. It was on the side next to another business. We came right back and we were customers at this establishment. We got back there in no more than 20 minutes (probably less). I understand the need for parking, especially since this is a small establishment, but to be honest I was embarrassed by this behavior. I talked this restaurant up only to have them scold my friend like she had done something wrong.
Love the food it's always cooked to perfection && the wait staff is always extremely friendly, I would definitely recommend eating here, they serve both a breakfast && lunch menu... I've never been disappointed since I've been coming here

Pete and his family run the Cafe, they are so nice and the food and service is great. It's like having breakfast with your own family. As of August 15th, it's a slim chance we will go back very often, it was very evident that since my wife and I simply can't afford to go out for breakfast very often, it shows that they don't really care too much that you are there if it's not a continuous basis.
