I wish I could give zero stars. I don't live in Thornton but chose to go to Eastlake because I was staying with my parents in Thornton when I noticed both my dogs had a missing patch of hair on their right hind leg, and I got concerned it might be something contagious. After receiving a less than warm welcome (the receptionist expected me to weigh both my dogs myself without offering any help or help from a vet tech which is hard when you're trying to weigh two dogs separately in a new place surrounded by other pets), the vet spent maybe 10 minutes with them and admitted he had no idea what would cause that. I told him I have a vet friend in another state who recommended a skin scrape to rule out ringworm and mites and just for peace of mind since scrapes are inexpensive. The vet did the scrape and it came back negative for both, and then he just said he had no idea so I suggested the other thing my vet friend mentioned that it might be a reaction to a vaccine. He agreed that was a possibility and sent me on my way. I was happy it was nothing contagious but frustrated I didn't get any real answers and basically spent only about 10 minutes bouncing ideas off a vet offering no help or advice, but again was just thankful it wasn't something contagious. Then I went to pay and was charged $220! I asked why and was given an itemized receipt...$48 each for each skin scrape and $58 each for a physical exam on each dog. I told the receptionist that the vet didn't give my dogs a physical exam and that the price was outrageous given the short amount of time he spent with them and that he wasn't able to determine the cause of their hair loss patches. She said that anytime a vet even looks at your dog it's considered a physical and told me she could put in a complaint with the office manager. I tried to protest the cost, but it was obvious she didn't care and had no say in the matter so I did tell her to put in the complaint, but that's also why I'm reviewing them here. Completely rude, clueless staff and a total rip off!
Brought both dogs in for all their shots and were treated great.
I was here for the first time and was very impressed by the clean facilities, warm and friendly staff!
One of the worst vet visits I've had. She barely looked at my dog and cost me $58. He had a circle shape spot that just appeared one day. There was still halt but a darker color and shorter. Vet Emily said maybe hypothyroidism but not sure. $170 blood test to find out. Kept telling me really needed teeth cleaned and maybe he was licking that spot and turned colors from bacteria on hos teeth Really! Said had a heart murmur from not having teeth cleaned. Said eye staining was also from teeth. Hello he is Maltipoo very common in Maltese. I agreed to a lepto vaccine reasonable priced then charged $5 to discard needle. What a racket I could get rich off what they make off that alone.. Cost for teeth cleaning wad between. $600 to $1100. Out of control. I would like to find a vet that cares more about what pet needs than what's in owners pockets. Normal working class people do not have that kind of money.....
Absolutely amazing! I have never had a vet spend an hour with my pup and I. I didn't feel rushed at all and really felt like they cared about my dog and helping him feel better. I have found a vet I will be going back to for a long time!! Thank you for helping my highly allergic overweight baby when other vets could not!!!
